The Something Brothers

The Brothers,Ekschin and Durwood, met in elementary school...played in competing high school bands... and started making professional music not long after graduation. Between bands... when they couldn't find a suitable bass player, they would go make some music in the studio. When writing song titles on tape boxes, they never really knew what to call themselves during this creative down-time... what finally stuck was a comment that Eks made ... "we're like the brothers... the something brothers."
There are many recordings from many different years that will be available here on this page to download or to stream. They are really preparatory recordings for the most part. I don't call them demos, as so many do to apologize for their sound, I will only call them demos if they ended up being re-recorded later for sound quality. The others we will think of as "non-master takes," "rough mixes," or "early mixes".
There will also be actual demos and home recordings from both Durwood, now "Jensen Bell" and Ekchin, now "C. J. Nakata" check back for new and interesting sounds as we get them up here.
