You Again

(Jensen Bell / Marshall Crenshaw)

My eyes adjusting to the early light

They’re kinda tired, haven’t slept all night

My mind’s been running in place

Constantly conjuring a face

I read a story ‘bout a love divine

Found myself speaking the hero’s line

And if the story were true

I could love someone new

But she’s You Again

I know you don’t believe

That you ever got the best of me

I’ve got a heart and I’ve got a sleeve

They get together when you leave

Over You Again

And though you still won’t call

I will try to rise above it all

I’ve got a heart but I can pretend

Things that break can somehow mend

Over you again

I used to wander out and try to face

A life we used to call our favorite place

But I got away from it all

There’s a map of the world on my wall

Planes are flying back from the west

Slow boats to China will return, I guess

Somewhere out there you’re sane

You’ve got sun, I’ve got rain

Over you again
